Individual Lesson Tuition

I believe in simple, predictable billing. Tuition is calculated by totaling the lessons for the entire school year and dividing it into nine equal monthly payments. For students starting in August, no tuition is due in December.

• 30-Minute Weekly Lesson: $140.00 / month

• 60-Minute Weekly Lesson: $280.00 / month

• Deposit: $40.00 per student

Note: Enrollment is always open! If you start mid-month, your first month’s tuition will be prorated.

What’s Included?

Your monthly tuition covers much more than just a weekly time slot:

• Music & Books: All method and theory books are provided at no extra cost. I primarily use Piano Pronto and Piano Adventures for kids, and Bastien for adults.

• Digital Tools: Full access to the Piano Maestro iPad app is included.

• Community: Invitations to our monthly jam sessions and all studio recitals.

• Sheet Music: I maintain an extensive music library. If a student wants to learn a specific song "off-book," I can usually provide it for free. (If a specific request isn't in my library, I’ll help you purchase the score).

Performance & Growth

• Studio Recitals: Held in December and May (usually the week before school breaks). These are wonderful opportunities to build confidence. While highly encouraged, participation is always optional.

• Summer Lessons: We teach year-round! Students who continue through the summer term receive a "one-week head start" on selecting their preferred lesson time for the upcoming school year.

• Competitions & Tests: Through my professional affiliations, students can enter composition contests, theory tests, and performance festivals (mostly held at the UT Butler School of Music). Note: Registration fees for these external events are not included in monthly tuition.

The Summer Term

Music is a language, and just like learning to read or speak, consistency is the key to fluency. While the school year focuses on our core curriculum, the summer term is about protection and progress.

Why Summer Lessons Matter

In the first two years of instruction, summer lessons are vital. At this stage, note-reading often resides in short-term memory. With consistent exposure, that knowledge moves into long-term memory and eventually becomes "automatic"—much like how an adult reads words effortlessly.

Taking a two-month break can cause a significant "slide" in these foundational skills. By continuing through the summer, we ensure that students don't have to spend the entire fall relearning old material.

Summer Scheduling & Billing

The summer term is designed to be flexible to accommodate family vacations and travel:

• Billing: Summer (June and July) is billed separately from the school year.

• Flexibility: You can choose a fixed weekly time or use a flexible booking model to fit your summer schedule.

• Bridging the Seasons: Because of how the calendar falls, the summer term often includes a final lesson in late May and the first one or two lessons in early August.

• Priority Booking: Students who participate in summer lessons receive one-week early access to select their preferred time slot for the upcoming school year.
